O.V. Ledgewood
We have had to put my father, O.V. Ledgewood, in the hospital today. He is 87.  He has possibly had a mild heart attack. He is scheduled for an ateriogram on Monday at ECM and we will know more after that.
Sandra Bruce
UPDATE: 06/23/2009
I have an update on my father. He had his ateriogram today. There is a great deal of blockage and the only way to repair it is with by-pass surgery. This is a decision that my father has to make and I will have to accept what he decides. He is concerned about his recovery if he has the surgery. He also can take medication and continue to live his life. The medication will not repair the damage but will allow Daddy to continue to live his life with some limitations. Please pray that he will make the choice he feels most a peace with.

Bailey and Parker
We have another court hearing Wednesday, June 10.  Paige is asking for full custody of  Bailey and Parker. During visitations with their father they
witnessed domestic violence. Their father and his wife of 8 months are in the process of divorcing. The Georgia Dept. for Family and Children opened an investigation of the activities of domestic abuse and alleged drug abuse. We Praise God for His protection and care of my child and grandchildren over the last 2 1/2 years! We thank you for your diligence in praying for us and for every prayer you lifted up for them. We covet your prayers for Wednesday.
Connie Arnold, Alabama Emmaus Walk #267

Caroline Taylor
Please pray for newborn, Caroline Taylor, daughter of Jennifer and Justin Taylor.  She is the niece of Debbie and Mike Williams.  She was born yesterday with spina bifida.  The opening is at the base of her spine, and as of right now, she is not showing any signs of paralysis.  They will do surgery today at noon at Children's Hospital in Huntsville.  There is some spinal fluid on her brain, but they don't know how much right now.  Her prognosis is uncertain, so pray for a miracle.  Please take a few minutes at noon to lift them up in prayer.  Please pray for Baby Caroline, Jennifer, Justin, the surgical team, and the rest of their family.

Camp Fighting to Stay Open
Sumatanga will run out of operating funds some time between August and September of this year. That means camp will not be able to pay staff, pay utilities bills or make payments to creditors. The camp is faced with shutting it's doors to guests. If business continues on its current pace the camp will cease to exist as a year-round camp and retreat center. The camp is currently $900,000 in debt and is running about $300,000 a year behind in revenue for its usage. A goal has been set to raise at least $300,000 in donations that can be used for operations by the end of the summer. As of Monday, June 8, over $85,000 had been received or pledged.
How to make a contribution
Gifts made as personal checks can be mailed to:
Camp Sumatanga
3616 Sumatanga Road
Gallant, AL 35972
Designate this as a general donation.

Gil Self
Please ask the prayer team to pray for young Gil Self.  He has been at ECM since Sunday with fevers of 101 to 104.  They feel that he has Rocky Mt Tick Fever  (night correct, but you get me).  He has bruise-colored spots over his limbs and face.  He has not eatten since the weekend.  He is weak and nauseous. Pray for his healing and the wisdom of doctors to diagnose and treat.  Pray for the family as they sit with him day and night.
THANK YOU!!!
Forwarded by Anne Roy
Update on young Gil:
His fever is down to 99, which is the lowest its been in 8 days.  He has been asleep all day.  He is receiving food through an IV bag (1200 calories; including protein, fat, carbs, etc), the first food he's had since being admitted into hospital. The "Kids Care" team, the folks who transported him from Florence to H'ville, visited Gil today and told Cheri and Gil how mannered, kind , and sweet Gil was to them even though he felt awful!  yay Cheri and Gil...what great parents! Gil is currently connected to 7 IV  bags:  Nutrition, medications, fluids, and phosphorus.  He is expected to stay another 3 to 4 days in Huntsville. Cheri and Gil feel pleased about the care Gil is receiving.  An Episcopal priest from a H'ville church came to visit and pray with them today.  The emails/texts/etc have been overwhelming!  Cheri and Gil are aware of each and every one ! Please keep praying!  Gil is not out of the woods yet, but is getting better every minute! Please forward this to anyone whom I may have missed!
oxoxox, and Godspeed to the Selfs
