Emily Watson Ladner
09/30/09 20:39
Please
continue to pray for Emily Ladner. She is 28,
recently got swine flu and has gone down very
quickly. She is currently intubated and on a
ventilator.
Details:
Emily has continued doing well. She is down to a PEEP of 5 and an FiO2/oxygen of 55%. She is on the schedule to have a tracheostomy tomorrow (Wednesday 9/30) at 5pm EDT (4pm CDT). Even though she's doing well, she needs this trach for several reasons. The most important reason is that she's still a ways away from being ready to come off the vent, and you can only be intubated with a tube for so long before you have to worry about damage to the vocal cords and trachea. There are many other reasons that will also help speed her recovery. Emily is nodding yes or no to some questions, but she's very confused at times as you can imagine after two and a half weeks of being paralyzed and sedated. Thank you so much for all of the support and prayers, especially at 5:00 Eastern tomorrow. Two other people who are very special to me will be having surgery back in Mississippi as well. So prayers for them are appreciated as well. Thank you all so much!
UPDATE:

Emily update. She has been thru so much and is very weak. Weaning off the vent starts today. Lets all pray that that goes well. Pray for strength for her family....they have not been getting enough rest....since she is awake now they don't want to miss a thing.
God we know that you will hold Emily in your hand the rest of the journey to recovery just as you have done all along.

From Ben-Part II
Soon we will be able to see if she'll do ok off the vent, at least for a period of time. It's very possible that she may need to come off and on the vent a few different times before she's completely ready to stay off of it. The progress she's made has been astounding. I can't stress enough how appreciative the whole entire family is of all the prayers and support!

I know that it's been a little while since any of us have posted an update on Emily, but that's because the last day and a half or so has been exceptionally busy and active. Emily is continuing to do extremely well. She has steadily needed less and less support from the ventilator. She did a pressure support trial yesterday and did very well.

Anne's son Adam
09/28/09 23:15
Please
pray for my son Adam. His company, Solvay
pharmaceuticals is being bought by Abbott. He
is sure that means the end of his job, because he is
in management and they have their own management.
Just ask for God to provide the job he needs and his
perfect will in his life.
Also pray for his wife, Hadley. He will not be easy to live with during this time of stress.

Ms. Inge is our friend,
mother of Dr. Erika Crenshaw. Dru Gambrell
Dear friends and family,
Mom completed week 3 of 6 of radiation. There was significantly more fatigue than before this week. We also had two scares with some chest pain on Monday night and a seizure or syncopal (fainting) episode on Wednesday night. Everything turned out ok and she is feeling better this weekend. I feel like the next 3 weeks may be a little more challenging than the first three. Her spirits remain good and the cards, phone calls, food , prayers and love you are sending make it all much better. Please continue to pray for all of us!
Prayers for:
Strength and stamina for Inge
No seizure activity
That the tumor will shrink or disappear
Peace and strength for all the family
Thanks and love in Christ

Emily, Ann and Danny
Watson’s daughter, is in critical condition;
reportedly with the swine flu. She is an MD in
Louisville, KY.
Please pray for her and her family. God is Still in the Business of Healing; To God Be the Glory! Dru Gambrell
UPDATE: 09/17/2009
Just had a call from Ann and Danny, Emily has taken a down turn.
Please pray for healing now. God be Praised!
UPDATES: 09/18/2009
This from Emily's aunt Terri this morning: Three specialists flew into Louisville early today. They collaborated & administered nitrous oxide (through the vent) and she is responding well. CSR showed a little fluid in her lungs but meds were given to help with that, she had a slight fever, and meds were given for that. Once again she has fooled the docs. and is still with us and is holding steady. Keep praying!!!
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for praying for this family! --Dru
Ben's, Emily's husband, grandmother passed away this morning. Ben's parents are with him in Louisville. Please pray for the Ladner family - in Gulf Port, MS - as they deal with another blow. Please pray that Ben's parents feel assured they are in the right place, to stay with with Ben and Emily.

Thanks for all
the prayers and words of
support.....
They are both needed at times like this...
The doctor was just in to say Reece has a gall stone in his common bile duct....
Must be removed..... can't leave hospital until removed...
Now waiting on surgeon visit to talk specifics of plan....
We are at Keller (you know I don't stay far away from Reece)
Rob came over for visit with his brother while I come home for clean clothes.
Brother in law Gary Heathcock has had heart attack as of yesterday....
But now getting out of ICU with meds for blockage in main artery.
What a week this has been.
He is now in Northport DCH Hospital with his three grand babies that were born July 4th.
I'll update as I know something and can get to a computer
Thank you and I love you.

We are still
hoping that the iv meds can draw fluid off lungs-not
a lot of success so far. Dr Heaton seems to think
this is another step in his CHF process. Could be
lack of kidney function-could be a precursor to more
blockage or heart attack. Risk of arterigram is
high-so we are just waiting to see what will resolve
on its own. Thank you so much for lifting him and our
family up in prayer! Its exactly what we need. We
love ya'll-please pass the word on. Kathy
