Jernigan's in Ghana

Andrew and Julianna Jernigan

Andrew Jernigan went on his Walk to Emmaus when I was on the team (don't remember which one). They are now in Ghana where Julianna works as a medical missionary. The house they live in has bats in the attic, and after years of "bat activity", the ceiling has rotted and is in need of repair. During the rainy season, watery bat poop runs down the walls. As if this weren't enough, a tropical storm knocked down a power pole, and they are without electricity or water (pump requires electricity), and their truck has broke down. They are not complaining (I sure would be!) but continue to serve the Lord with joy. I want to share there needs with you and ask for prayer for this wonderful missionary couple. Dwight
I would like everyone to pray for my boss Laurita and her family. Her brother, Dwight, was admitted to ECM Sunday, with what they thought was gall bladder problems. After many tests and scans, a mass was found on his liver and further testing indicatates cancer all over. Doctors say it is just a matter of time. Please lift this family up today in prayer.

Thank you all,

Melissa Greer
Many of you have been praying for my daughter's friend, Melissa Greer. She found out that she had cancer shortly after she found out that she was expecting her first baby. She delivered a healthy, beautiful baby boy 2 months ago. Sadly, Melissa lost her battle with cancer Friday, April 20th. Please continue to pray for her family and her baby, Connor. The following is a post she did a few days before her death. It is very touching. You can also go to the web site of the news station she worked for http://www.wbtv.com/news/greer .
Thanks for all your prayers,

Steven and Cindy
Michael and Kristi Rains are dear friends of mine serving as missionaries in Peru. Another missionary couple, friends of theirs, need our prayers. Please remember them for healing and protection.
Vic Watford

I just heard from a friend of mine that he has Dengue fever.  He has been a friend of mine since college and now serves with the IMB in another part of South America.  Dengue fever is cause mostly by infected mosquitoes.  It can be a very serious illness that sometimes leads to death.  Please pray for Steven and that he will only have a mild case.  Pray for his comfort during this time.  He said that his arm feels like it is broken (where the mosquito bit him).  Some call it the broken bone illness; I guess that is a good nickname for it.  Also pray for his family’s protection, especially his pregnant wife Cindy.  He can not transfer it to them but they are around those same areas as he is and we know that at least one mosquito, around them, was infected.  Thank you for your faithful prayers.

Susan Phillips' parents
My Dad's blood test to determine if he needed a biopsy came back good and we are thankful. He does however have a small problem that will require daysurgery next Tuesday, so please remember him in prayer. My Mom started chemo this week, and radiation starts Monday - we are so thankful for every good day she has, and look forward to celebrating the miracle of Easter with her.

God bless you all,

Lee Woolley
Please pray for Lee Woolley. He is having surgery today to repair a hernia. Lee is the husband of Judy Woolley and brother-in-law of Sherry Belew. He is not in good health due to heart problems and I'm sure any type of surgery would be dangerous for him, but he has been in a great deal of pain with this hernia.

Thanks for your prayers!

Carl Long

Carl

Give God the Glory!!! Bro. Carl Long saw his doctor on 4/3 and has
learned his PSA (a prostate cancer indicator) is at less than 0.1!!!!!
This is VERY good news. He will have no treatment at this time. He
will see his doctor in 3 months and will again have a PSA test and
depending on what the results are may or may not have any type of
treatment. This is surely an answer to many, many prayers that have
been lifted up! Keep praying!

Camilla Miller
Just got a call from David Donaldson. Mike and Edith Miller's daughter, Camilla Miller, fell and hit her neck while playing softball tonight (Tuesday). She has no feeling in her left side. As I got the call, they were already at Helen Keller. Please pray for Camilla, and for the Miller family as they wait to find out how serious the injury is. Vic Watford
