Please
pray for Jean Burns (Emmaus Walk number ?), who is
having serious abdominal surgery tomorrow morning
beginning at 8 am. The surgery will be at
Vanderbilt Hospital and probably will last from 6 to 8
hours. She will be in the hospital one or two
weeks, depending on her recovery time. Please pray for
her, the surgeons and others in attendance, husband
Macon, and her family. In His love and mine,
Elaine
UPDATE:
I got a call from my surgeon's nurse early this morning. My surgery will be put off until next Wednesday which will the 11th of November instead of today. That changed everything.
Dr. Kenneth Sharp fell and hurt his back yesterday. My surgery is suppose to last 6 to 8 hours, and he would not be able to stand for that long. He rescheduled it to be on the 11th of November.
Macon and I will be leaving next Tuesday (Nov.10th) for Nashville. We are all going to stay at the Baymont Inn near Vanderbilt. I have to be at the hospital (Nov11th) at 600 and surgery at 800am on Wednesday.
Thanks so much for all the sweet prayers and concern during my illness.

10/28/09 19:46
An
employee of mine at our store, Lora, just lost her baby
yesterday. She was 7 months pregnant and
something went tragically wrong inside her and the baby
died. She had to give birth to her son last
night, who was a beautiful, fully developed sweet baby,
who now they have to bury. Lora and her husband
are devastated.
God gives and can take away too. We have to love and trust Him through it all. But what do I say to Lora? That her precious little gift from God is now with Him in heaven? Please help me pray for these people. Thanks. Linda Watson

Bill Chitty
10/14/09 22:44
Please
pray for Bill Chitty (husband of Katie) He has multiple
health problems. Was taken to the hospital in an
ambulance today. His potassium is too high, he has been
intubated, kidneys not working, assisted with
breathing. Katie says it is not good. God is still in
the miracle business.

UPDATE

Prayers are def working- Bill's potassium went down again during the night to 2.4. But, they got it up to 3.0 this afternoon. Target is 3.5. They turned the respirator off and put him on straight O2 for 15 minutes. His sat level dropped to mid to upper 80's (from mid to upper 90's). The respiratory therapist compared it to sucking air thru a straw. So they turned the respirator back on. This is ok-we have to take baby steps. We will try again tomorrow. He has been responsive most of afternoon. If we can't figure out his hand motions. He can write (and we can read it). We joked that it may be a good thing he can't talk when the Auburn game comes on. He wants a Mt. Dew (caff free of course!) or a Snapple Peach Tea so bad...just have to wait! He is tired after the breathing on his own, so we are giving him a break from visitors.
The Chitty wing of the waiting room is rowdy at times. We have a blow up twin bed, with a "builder bob" sheet on it and a Sea-Bee's blanket (which was quite comfy last night. Cell phones plugged in everywere, food, drink and a coffee station with plenty of supplies for all the families of patients in the cardiac care unit- and we keep it chugging. We are meeting some really sweet people there.
I am so thankful for your prayers and ask for continued prayer for Bill. He still has quite a way to go.
Much love and God Bless,
Katie Chitty
UPDATE 3
Off ventilator today! (we know who gets the Glory) And doing really well! If good night-maybe a room tomorrow. Thank you for continued prayers and God Bless.

UPDATE 4
Emmaus Friends, Bill continues to slowly improve. Vitals remain steady. Physical therapy is working with him re: sitting, standing on his on-he is a little shaky. Still in unit-best place for now. The care he is getting has been absolutely fantastic. I cannot sing their praises enough. We are so thankful.
God Bless,
katie

UPDATE
| I
want thank everyone for your prayers and ask
that you please continue to pray for Bill.
He isn't "out of the woods", but is stable. Not very happy about the ventilator, so they have him sedated. His kidney (he has only one) is working-Can I get an "AMEN"!?. Dr. Holden wants him to rest as he slowly weens him from the ventilator. He has a long way to go and we treasure your prayers. My Emmaus book (always with me)sure was a Spiritual comfort this morning in my quiet time. Bless you all! Katie Chitty |

Tereasa Dale
10/09/09 21:12
As
you start your day, please remember a very dear and old
friend of mine, Tereasa Dale,
all day.
Tereasa will be going to UAB today for surgery
scheduled at
5:00 p.m.
There are tumors on and around her brain and the team
of physicians will be going in to determine what type
or magnitude these tumors are and what can be done for
her. As a 15 year cancer survivor, Tereasa is a
strong lady, but right now, she is very scared.
She shared with me on Monday that she can deal with
chemo and radiation, even though she knew it would be
awful, but this unknown is more than she can deal
with. Tereasa’s spirits are very low right now,
and I can’t begin to imagine what she and her family
are going through. Please whisper prayers for her
husband Mark, son, Aaron and daughter, Sarah all
day. Tereasa knows in her heart that our
God is able but right now it’s very difficult for her
to see and she doesn’t know why she is going through
this valley.
I promised Tereasa that she would be covered in prayer as she goes through this. Please pray that God’s hands will guide the surgeons, His hands will hold Mark, Aaron, Sarah and Tereasa’s parents throughout this day and pray that Jehovah Rapha(our Healer) will completely surround Tereasa today as she goes through this day and the days to follow.
Our God is Able.
Thank you for your prayers for Tereasa.

Bob LeMay

Please
pray for Bob Lemay. Had surgery today in Nashville, and
after doctor got in, found it is much worse than
expected. Vic Watford
UPDATE:
You all may already have this information. I saw Russ LeMay late yesterday afternoon when he was checking on his parent's house. He said that things were going as well as they could at this point in Bob's recovery. He is still sedated and on the ventilator. The plan is to try to start weaning him off starting today. He is making urine but his kidney function is still a real concern. (I sure don't want him on dialysis and have to take care of him as a patient.) Russ is going back today. Tana and Jean LeMary (Ruth's daughter) are there now but have to leave. Russ said that Zeke was there w/ them for the surgery and he was "awesome." They are very pleased w/ Vanderbilt. He said that everyone has been very considerate and have kept them informed. They even took Barbara into a quiet room so she could hear and explained things. He is convinced that it is prayer and God's intervention that has made things go so smoothly so far........so keep praying. Love, Mary
