Finding the perfect home is not always as hard as it seems. You probably already know how many bedrooms you need, how many bathrooms you want, and what style of home you would like to own. Now you have to outline the specifics that will help you find your dream home.

Once you have determined answers to these questions, talk to your agent about the homes that fit your qualifications. Your agent will check the housing inventory that is available and select the homes that fit your requirements.
If the list is a long one, you can shorten it by adding some additional preferences such as central air conditioning, gas heat, basement, or just about anything that is important to you. Each time you add something, the list will become shorter until you have a handfull of homes to choose. Then you can begin shopping.
If your initial list is too short and there are not enough choices, try to decide which requirements you can live without. Remember the difference between "wants" and "needs" when determining your housing requirements.
