Carol Captis announced our Vineland Rotary Holiday Party to be held at the Eastlyn Golf Course on 12/27. A sign-up sheet was circulated at the tables today. Hospitality hour starts at 6:00PM and dinner at 7:00. Both attendee and their guests are asked to each bring a wrapped re-gift. Carol said to expect a lot of fun again this year. .

President Bill introduced Shirley Burke who recapped our Tiny Tim Caroling last Tuesday. Although it was not a clear night, it was misty and the weather added to the festive spirit of the carolers. Shirley thanked the Foster’s for hosting the group at the end of the night. Paige’s son, Devon was the hit of the evening, and Betsy’s daughter, Julia was indispensable as our door knocker to announce our coming when we didn’t get a quick response. Everyone who attended said it was a really fun fellowship event.

Reminder - No meeting Christmas and New Year's Day. The Holiday Party will be held at Eastlyn CC on December 27th.

Finemaster

Both our Finemaster and Assistant Finemaster decided to waive fines at today’s meeting for the season. We all breathed a sigh of relief

Program

PE Betsy introduced the first part of today’s program, the Vineland High School Select Madrigal Choir. An annual event for our club, this talented group of students never fails to impress. Their festive, fast-paced seasonal offerings put smiles on the faces of all the members. P. Bill presented an honorarium to the group and asked them to return next year.

Charlie Loyle presented the second part of today’s meeting, the Induction of Hope Brolis. Hope is the General Manager of McAllister Transportation, formerly Wares Van and Storage. She was sponsored by Lou Tramontana and Paige Desiere. Charlie briefly recounted the history of Rotary and its founder, Paul Harris. The Vineland Club was sponsored by the Atlantic City Club in December 1920. There are 32,000 Rotary clubs in the world today in 168 countries, serving 1.2 million members.

With a poem, P. Bill wished us all a happy holiday season. Our next meeting will be January 8th and will feature a Red Cross Blood Drive. There will be no meeting next week, 12/25/2007 or the following, 1/1/2008.
