Sgt. at Arms, Bruce Middleton, announced that Vineland Rotary Golf shirts are available in various sizes.
This year's Strike Out Hunger Phillies game will be held August 22nd. We will be partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters with a bus trip to the game and pairing up with a "Little" for the night. Please sign for a "Little" so that we can take as many as possible. They are looking forward to this event. If you can't attend the game, please consider sponsering a "Little" so they don't miss out!
Gail announced that the club will being "Crusing Down the River" July 22, leaving Millville dock at 4 PM.
Also, a bus trip to NYC to see Spamalot is planned for September 15th. Bus leaves Vineland at 3 am and returns 7 pm. See Gail for tickets.
Carol Captis will be participating in the "Breast Cancer 3-day" walk in October. Please see Carol if you would like to support her in this worthy cause. Checks can be made payable to "Breast Cancer 3-Day".
Bonnie announced that the District Changeover dinner is being held at the Rams Head Inn on July 20th. See Bonnie if you are interested in attending. Bonnie recently visited the Camden, ME club on vacation. They recently donated $21,000 for a Hurricane Katrina project!
Ron McMahon presented P. Bill with a check for $100 donated to Vineland Rotary Charities from the Friends of Vineland Library. Ron recently gave a presentation on his trip to India. They also presented Ron with $100 which he forwarded to a charity in India.
Ron reminded members about the Blood Drive to be held next Tuesday at the Ramada Inn. Posters are available.
P. Bill thanked Ron for his outstanding contributions to Rotary.
P. Bill distributed the "Rotary News" newsletter dated July 5, 1952. The newsletter features incoming Vineland Rotary President, William F. Dudley, Bill's dad. It was also Inauguration day for the "new" City of Vineland.
Finemaster Bill
Bill P. announced that P. Bill will not be fined this year if he arrives by the time we sit down for lunch. Which P. Bill managed to do this week. Shannon was fined for the recent Commerce Bank publicity; "Firecracker" Rose for all her publicity/photos; Ken "Kevin" Dondero and Bonnie also received fines.
Clarification of fines was outlined by P. Bill. The Cell Phone fine remains at $5. turn off/silent your phones!
Program
P. Bill's top priority this year will be that every member serve on at least one committee. Carl K. will chair the Past Presidents Council working on mentoring new members, using their wealth of knowledge to solve Rotary issues.
There will plenty of opportunity for Rotary Fellowship this year as P. Bill has several members working on scheduling a wide range of fellowship events.
Each Director gave a brief description of their committee so that members could choose which committee they would like to participate on this year.
Carol Captis - Club Administration: Attendnace, Sergeant at Arms, 50/.50, Fines, Special Events, Vociatonal Service Council, Fellowship. This year, Carol is looking for "Out-of-Box" ideas.
Alan Dickenson - Foundation: Provide programs to educate the membership about the Foundation, Paul Harris, Matching Funds & Grants, working with RI to coordinate foundation. giving.
Keith Petrosky - International: Santa Domingo Orphange project, Pedals for Progress, Polio Immunization, Brazil School. Continue to support and develop new international projects.
Joe Delgado - Community Service: Challenger League start up in Spring 2008, Spirit & ruth Ministries, Education/Scholarships, Roadside Cleanup, Blood Drives, Phillis/Phantoms games, Dictionary Distributions, Vocational Service Award, Valentine's Day Party, Child ID
Ken Dondero - Membership: Meets regularly at Larry's II for breakfast once a month to discuss membership issues, new member orientations, exit interviews.
Ted Lane - Fundraising: The Key that drives the "Rotary" Engine! We will once again be doing the "Dream Date Raffle". Ted is looking for new ideas for fundraising this year. He recently held a Cigar Social at his home and will be holding another in the fall.
Linda Foster - Public Relations: Let the community know about Rotary, gain members and community support - Press releases, photography, newsletter, web site . A DVD featuring our club projects will be developed. The web site will be updated. If you are reading this, then you know that someone has to take notes for the membership to keep informed, (This is NOT a hard job to do) .
P. Bill has an open door on "Complaints", but you must have a solution to offer in return. Use the 4-Way Test. This year's Rotary Theme is "Rotary Shares" and P. Bill added "Rotary Still Cares".
