The game starts at 7:05 PM and we are leaving at 5:45 sharp. Bigs are needed at Loyle Lanes from 7 to 9 PM at Loyle Lanes this Friday night.
The District Governor will be in attendance at next week’s meeting, so let’s try to have 100%.
Pat gave his joke of the day about working out and golf.
Finemaster
Bill fined Pat $1 for his golf joke, Abby had happy news about the birth of a child, and Ed Duffy got a $5 fine. Ed pulled out a get-out-of-fine card, and complained that Bill wouldn’t honor it. So to honor it, Bill gave him a second fine for arguing with the Finemaster. Sherry was fined for lunch and Mike Loyle was fined for the sake of his dad’s pockets.
Today’s Program
Betsy introduced Gloria Urban to talk about the Vineland Public Library. She said she inherited a very well organized, well-run library just completing a major expansion. She said the expansion was so seamless, that she had difficulty determining what part of the building was “old” and what was “new”. She provided some handouts that gave some statistics on the value of the library to the community. The investment of $1 yielded a return to the community of 344%. There are a number of free programs for adults and children. The foundation raises money for the library and will sponsor a dinner “Your Book” at Running Deer on October 31st featuring the philanthropist of the year. The library offers CD’s, DVD’s but no longer phonograph records. The library adds 25 to 30 CD’s a month. Spoken book CD’s are available for commuters.
