Announcements
Bruce introduced guests and reminded members that Rotary t-shirts are still available.
Alan announced that a short Foundation meeting will take place after the lunch meeting.
Betsy Frank reminded the club about the Phillies Strike Out Hunger night on August 22. If unable to personally participate, please make a donation to the project, to support children from the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program to attend the game with us. Tickets are $22 each with $7 being refunded to the foundation.
Steve Shavio announced that a club fellowship event is planned for September 20th from 6-8 pm at Morton's Steakhouse in Atlantic City.
Secretary, Gail Marino, reported on board activities. Several "thank you" notes were received from scholarship recipients and organizations that our club sent donations. We lost 2 members, but just gained one. The club directory is being updated. Please check the website and review your information. Let Gail know if changes need to be made. Jay is taking officers and director photos first, then new member and member's photos that are missing. A District Directory is being published. If you would like to place an ad, See Gail for information. There will be a "yellow page" section included so that Rotarians can share their professions/talents with other Rotarians. Ads will also help offset printing costs. The trip to see the show “Spamalot” is September 15th. 20 tickets are sold. There are 7 tickets available for the "ride only" to NYC.
Finemaster Bill
Finemaster Bill fined P. Bill, Marty, Ron B. for his Boy Scout announcement, all Board members, Abbey, Jerry B. and Glenn.
Ron Barisanno announced that the Boy Scouts have rose bushes for sale - $5 each or 5 for $20.
Program
PE Betsy, introduced her game show idea called "Who's Line is This". She thought it would be a great way for everyone to get to know each other better. However, if it didn't work it was Hugh's idea. Four panelsists were selected from the group. The "blindfolded" panelists were Jody Hirata, Ron Barisano, Melanie Druziako, and Gerry Dooley. Each panelist asked questions to a mystery rotarian (who disquised their voice) with the intention of trying to guess their identity. Our first mystery rotarian was Steve Schiavo and second was Rob Tola. Panelist Melanie guessed the identity of Steve Shiavo, but Rob Tola stumped all the panelists. It was great fun and we had lots of laughs.
