Charles Loyle announced that the annual Multiple Sclerosis walk at Parvins State Park this weekend will be held in honor and memory of Susan Brody, wife of former member Mel Brody.
The Annual President’s Gala of the Greater Vineland Chamber of Commerce will be held on May 17.
Ron Barisano talked about preparations for the GSE team from France that will be visiting our club May 30 – June 3. There are 6 members of the team. Host families are still needed for 3 of the team members.
Ted Lane is hosting a “cigar appreciation night” in his garage on Wed. June 20. Smokers and non-smokers are invited.
Betsy Frank reported on the wine and cheese train ride from Richland to Tuckahoe last Saturday. It was a very enjoyable afternoon. Another one is planned for this December.
Jay Parks reported on the international comings and goings of his son Matt in Nicaragra. Stay tuned.
Marty Hoag reminded us of the importance of the function of greeters at each meeting, and to be sure to make new members feel welcome
Pat Proccacino entertained us with his “jokes of the day”.
Finemaster
Bill gave a rare reprieve of fines to President Mike and his benefactor and Dad, Charlie. Today being a special day in the legal community, all lawyers and retired judges received fines. Dave Hanrahan reported his happy news, Capital Bank is now open for business.
Program
Today is “First Tuesday”, reserved for club business.
Gail Marino announced that Mons. John Burton has resigned from the club. Thank you letters have been received for club donations to the YMCA and the Make-a Wish Foundation, and for memorial donations to South Jersey Healthcare Hospice. The club will be participating again this year in the annual Strike Out Hunger Phillies game in August. This year’s district conference will be June 8-10.
The club directory has been updated. It’s available on line, and hard copies are available if needed.
A bus trip to see Spamalot is being organized and planned for Saturday Sept. 15. Save the date!
Keith Petrosky, Scholarship Chairman, reviewed the several scholarships that we sponsor, and the extensive and time consuming process of reviewing and awarding them. The scholarship committee devotes a lot of effort to this process. This year’s scholarships will be awarded at the lunch meeting on June 12.
A new scholarship has been added this year – the Vineland Rotary John Spoltore Matt Blatt Inspirational Scholarhip. Other scholarships and annual award are:
