The opening prayer was led by Carl Kirstein.
Guests
Many guests were present, including spouses and friends of club members, Bob and Marion Spence of the Bridgeton Lunch Club (Bob was team leader of district 7640 GSE trip to France this year), District Governor Al Taylor and his wife Mary, and district GSE coordinator Tom Venables and his wife Doreen.
Special GSE Program
The GSE team from District 1700 in southern France is led by Dr. Philippe Doat, from Perpignan, France, a Rotarian for over 40 years.

President Mike Loyle welcomed the guests from France in his best effort at the French language. District governor Al Taylor related how he chose District 1700 to partner with our district for the group study exchange. He also read a poem, “Why I’m a Rotarian”.
Tom Venables spoke about how great a partner France has been to the United States, dating back to Ben Franklin’s time. He related some of the French participation in the U. S. revolution.
GSE team leader Philippe and each of the team members spoke about the history, geography and industry of their area of France, and presented a slide show to illustrate their talks.
At the close of the dinner meeting, President Mike exchanged club banners with the team leader and each of the team members.
