OVERCOMING ADVERSITY

It’s important to celebrate our accomplishments/victories, rather than dwell on our shortcomings

Cut yourself some slack and recognize your achievements, focusing on the positives in your world rather than the negatives.

I felt good about my rehab to date, and rewarded myself through "retail therapy".  Replacing the El Camino with a 2001 Jeep Wrangler, the ultimate in seasonal toys.  4-wheel drive in the winter, and convertible during the milder months, both of them.

I owned an ‘89 model at the time of my strokes, and had to give it up.

My first words as I climbed into the ‘01 for the test drive were "I'm home"!

The joy I get from the Jeep makes the loan payments a wise investment!

I wash it once a week religiously, maintaining my signature "cleanest ride in the parking lot” status. I'm proud of this accomplishment in spite of my physical limitations. I’ve been asked, "Who cleans your vehicle?"  Like a gimp couldn't possibly have such high standards. This one does!
