OVERCOMING ADVERSITY

 
 

Humor can be a form of self-medication. It's contagious and can improve attitudes as well. I see joking as a healthy response  to horrific situations. It's not that I don't understand the seriousness of this stuff. I simply identify the issues and have fun with them when feasible. Humor is nature's Prozac. During my somewhat extended visit with the medical community, I found so much to laugh  at (situations, not individuals). Often the professionals warned me of denial. Not a problem. I understand this is serious stuff, but in an emotionally devastating situation, humor can be used as a tool or a coping skill which offers us a path through a devastating situation.
