  11. With Magic Wand, click in the area outside of butterfly (2nd layer is still active)
  12. Now choose Selections/Invert
    • Here you can make a partly transparent image as I have done with the bottom image using blue in the background with green in the foreground.
    • - With second layer chosen, slide the transparency lever, on the right side of the layers palette screen, to the left until you have the transparencie you want (35-40).
    • - Click the glasses to close the first layer
    • - Click on second layer again and then Layers/Merge/Visible

  13. Select Edit/Copy

  15. With copied image selected, choose File/Export/Gif Optimizer to save as transparent image

To make the sparkle butterfly -

  1. With image still selected, go to the Layers Palette

  9. Hide second layer and repeat highlights with third layer.
  10. Make all three layers visible and without merging, Save Copy As bflylayers.psp.
    * Be sure to save as psp to keep the layers.

To Animate for Twinkle Effect -

  1. Launch Animation Shop from Paint Shop Program
  2. Select File/Open/bflylayers.psp
  3. View Animation and adjust to your liking
  4. I set display time to 20 - Animation/Frame Properties/Display/20
  5. Save As sparklebfly.gif

Note: Don't forget in Paint Shop, under Edit/Command History, you can Undo multiple steps if you make a mistake, or if you want to save different versions. Also, save copies often in psp format in a working folder. If you save your images to the same folder, "Save Copy As" conserves memory. If your picture tube doesn't show up, Select File/Browse and find the tubes folder - usually, in Programs, Paint Shop Pro, Tubes. Open the one you want and then choose File/Export/Picture Tube. Remember, if you have downloaded the zipped one, you must first Extract it.
