The source of the border on the side is a card I received from a friend who is into "shoes". I scanned the card because I really like the shoe pattern, but I suppose it might be a copyright infringement. I have been known to scan other things, as well, such as some kleenex box patterns. The daisies are just a cropped part of the whole shoe image. The daisy buttons are an extension of our frames lesson using the texture from the pattern. The whole shoe could be a button as well.
The buttons are from scratch. It is fun to make "sets" of borders, butttons and backgrounds. I found that the drop shadow caused a big blur so had to go back and find a better font and choose null for any pattern fill. I think the effect is good on a transparent button. The buttons on the Week Two page,"images" are just the background pattern and buttonize from PSP. In that case, there are sets so there can be a "mouse-over" highlight button. I like to make a raster layer to add text so it's easy to undo. It is good advice to work with copies and always keep a "blank".
