This assumes a basic knowledge of creating tables. One of the many good tutorials by Joe Barta is here - Tables
The link for this table code is listed at the end of the tutorial displayed in the same table with a border to show the individual cells.
This is a simple table with a plain background. It is possible to make nested tables as I have done in my home page -Tailgate
A word on checking tables: Netscape is far more particular than Internet Explorer, so it is a good way to check your table formatting.
The principle is very simple. You are merely making corners with the background color or pattern in a curved pattern so it blends into the page background. You may either make a simple corner square or rectangle as I have done here, or it is also possible to do an entire row top and and entire row bottom if you know the width you want.
It is handy to keep a template and simply change colors as needed.
1. Open a new image 100 x 100, background white
2. Make the background color in Paint Shop the same as you want for your page background color.
3. Enlarge image to 2:1 by hitting the + key and drag the edges away for a clear view.
4. Choose the Selection Tool
5. Under Tool Options, select Ellipse (If Tool Options is not displayed, right-click the tool and select it)

6. Placing your cursor in the left top corner, drag your mouse diagonally toward the center of the image and release. Part of the ellipse will go outside and you will have a curve in the corner of the image -
7. Now under Image, select Flip and then select Mirror - ending up with the curved corner -
8. Now, under Selections, choose Invert (or Shft-Ctrl-I).
9. Select the Flood Fill Tool and right-click (for background color) in the corner of your image. Don't worry about all of the image as you're going to select just your corner.

10. Almost there - Now select from the left top corner to the corner of the white area and copy and paste as new image (or crop.)
- Save As topleft.jpg
11. Now choose Image/Mirror and Save As topright.jpg -
12. Choose Image/Flip and Save As btmright.jpg -
13. Finally, choose Image/Mirror and Save As btmleft.jpg-
Now you're ready to set up your table.
The top row and bottom row of your table will have a left cell with the corner, a middle cell, and a right cell with the other corner. Note that the left corners are aligned "left" and the right corners are aligned "right".
You can see the possibilities with corners - just one side or just top, etc.
