Here are some views of the Audi 5000 turbo-gas intercooler that I ended up modifying and installing in my Rabbit turbo-diesel.
It has plastic end tanks, and you can see the inlet and outlet are on the same end tank. How does that work? Well, the air goes into the intercooler, flows through the core,
then does a u-turn in the other end tank, flows back through the core a second time, and then out. It is very efficient and low-air restriction.
The only downside is that the inlet will need to be modified to get it to fit my application, and since it's very thick I will need to relocate the radiator back some.
