Q's House

I welcome you my Amateur Radio station located in Scituate, MA.
Scituate is a town 18 miles south of Boston,MA on the coastline. My name is Bob, known as Q, and I have been a HAM radio enthusiast since I first read a book about Guglielmo Marconi, the father of radio, when I was 11 years old. You can learn all about my early years here.

Here is the latest QSL card that I received.
Everytime I get a new card I will post it here so you can see who I am working.
This was from a contact using the AM mode on 75 meters and contacting
the Flea Market station at the Farfest in Friendship, MD.

I am an Extra class licensee and a principle engineer with Electroswitch in Weymouth MA.
I design microprocessor based equipment for the electric utillity companies and write the embedded softeware to operate
these designs.
Before working for Electroswitch I worked for the Foxboro Company, Fisher Pierce, and Datamarine.
I graduated, Magna Cum Laude, with a BS in Computer Engineering from Northeastern University.
My main interests are designing, building, and operating equipment for: HF, especially Amplitude Modulation;
repeater operation; APRS; VHF; UHF; and PSK31.
I operate AM on most amateur bands and spend much of my time on 7290 KHZ, 29.039 MHZ , and 50.4 MHz .
I operate FM on 6 meters, 2 meters, and 70 cm from the house and 2 meters and 70 cm from the car.
I operate SSB on all HF bands from 160 to 10 meters and also on 6 meters and 2 meters. I do operate contests but I certainly do it on a relaxed basis. I am the owner and trustee of the 145.39 Mhz repeater in Scituate (IRLP Node 4320) and over the years have built and maintained other repeaters on the South Shore of Boston.
I was a Radioman in the US Navy from 1968 to 1971 and was stationed on the USS Fulton, AS-11.
