THE SIXTH ANNUAL

2008

This year, the WA7ABU Repeater group will again put on a Chili contest to promote the non-profit repeater operation.  Three judges will determine the winning Chili.  Entrants win prizes and recognition for great cooking.  Join us this May 17th for a grand get together and feast, in honor of the 529 repeater users. The 145.29 Repeater serves the community in several ways.  It provides continuous communications both for the everyday needs of the local Amateur Radio Operators and it allows communications during times of special need, such as emergencies declared by the Marion County Emergency Services.  The repeater also provides communications for several fund raising events involving "walks" or "rides" around the local countryside.  This aides in traffic control and safety for these participants and motorists.

Now don't think that ALL the Chili is going to be TEXAS hot Chili, but some will be.  This year, the categories are Mild, Vegitarian, Mistery, and Hot.  There will be awards for top entries in each category and a prize for best Chili. Be sure to bring a crock pot of Chili, if you wish to compete.  Remember, everyone can compete for top Chili.  To join in the raffle event you will want to be sure to bring your wallet.  The raffle will start at $1 per ticket to compete for several prizes.

If you intend to compete, with a fresh chili crock pot, just let me know. We will be holding your place at the table.
