Digital Photos!

These are some digital photos I took in February 1997 in and around Beaufort, S.C. (except where noted). They are rather nice I think.

This first picture is actually in Savannah (See I told ya that there would be an exception.) It's Epworth United Methodist Church. Its on the corner of Bull and 38th Streets. Its been on this location since 1912. Recently, a stolen car was rammed into the left hand porch, destroying the iron rail and damaging the poured stone steps. Click Here!

The second is a photo of a house which might be familiar...even though its not the best view of the house. If you saw "The Big Chill", or "The Great Santini" you will know this house. Click Here!

Number three is the house that the mother lived in, in "The Prince of Tides". My Great-Great-Grandmother, Missouri Barnwell, was born in this house. It was in a different location then. Readers of "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" will be intereseted in the fact that Jim Williams paid to move it to the current location to save it. Click Here!

Number four is the steeple of the Episcopal Church in the middle of Beaufort. My Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandfather is burried under the Alter. His name was John Barnwell. He is known for leading a Tax revolt in Charleston, S.C., running the Tuscarora Indians out of North Carolina into Pennsylvania, and building the first English setttlement in Georgia, Ft. King George, near Darien, Ga. Click Here!

Number five is the bridge from Beaufort to Lady's Island. It was a pretty day! I was on the floating dock in the Marina on Bay St. Click Here!
