These Are My Astronomy Photographs!.

These Astro-photos were taken with my brothers 20 year old TL ELECTRO X Yashica SLR with a very stable tri-pod. All were taken with Kodak Royal Gold 1000 speed, in and around Savannah, GA Each was exposed for 20 sec or less.

 

Photo 1 is a shot I took in April of 1997. Its Comet Hale-Bopp in the constellation of Andromedea, near Cassiopeia. This was taken from Tybee Island. Click Here!
Photo 2 is also Hale-Bopp. It was taken from the Savannah River Wildlife Refuge on the old-Hwy 17, the same night as #1. Its still in Andromedea. If you look close at the pic you can see light reflected off the water in the old rice paddy. Click Here!
Photo 3 is an older photo. It was taken in April 1996 of Comet Hyakutake. The photo wasn't in that good of a condition when I scanned it. It was taken from the Savannah-Ogeechee Canal Museum out on Hwy 204. The stars at the top of the picture is the tail of the Big dipper. Click Here!
Photo 4 is back to Hale-Bopp. It was taken the same night as #1 a few minutes later. It was about an hour before the other picture. The dark object at the bottom is a railing on the gazebo at the north end. Cassiopeia is very conspicuous to the right. Click Here!
Photo 5 is the constellation of Orion take from the 8th Air Force Museum. The pink object in the center is the Great Orion Nebula (M 42) On the original you can see the HorseHead also. Click Here!
Photo 6 is a VERY old photo. It is a photo of Space Shuttle Discovery taken on Nov. 8, 1984. I was on the visitors causway about 3 miles away and used my 8" f/6 telescope to shoot this. Click Here!
Photo 7 is a photo of the Summer Sky facing south. It was taken in an open Field at Elijah Clarke State Park, near Lincolnton,GA You can see the Milky Way and the teapot of SagitariusClick Here!
