Lt. John Wade Watts


John Wade Watts was only 16 years old when he joined Storr's Troopers, a unit of cadets from the University of Alabama in 1863. As a private in Co. F of the 7th Cavalry John Watts rose to the rank of Lt. and served as aide-de-camp to Gen. Clanton. His name can be found on a plaque outside of the Gorgas Library, U.A., Tuscaloosa. He was the eldest son of Gov. Watts.
