Oakwood Cemetery, Thomas Henry Watts Plot

829 Columbus St.
Montgomery,  AL  36104  MAP

Thomas Henry Watts Plot

My great grandfather, Thomas Henry Watts was probably known more widely as the Great Incohonee of the Improved Order of Red Men than a lawyer. A national fraternal organization, the Red Men were several hundred thousand strong around 1900 and he was their chief. Thomas H. Watts, as he was called, is buried here along with 2 of his sons, a daughter, son in law, and his wife Johness Watts. Since his name so closely resembled that of the Gov. we only recently discovered they were father and son.
