Oakwood Cemetery, Gov. Thomas Hill Watts Plot
Thomas Hill Watts Plot
Thanks to the efforts of Mrs. Laura Watts, the Gov. Watts plot is in an excellent state of repair. Once a large crepe myrtle stood within the fence; only a huge stump remains today. On the entrance gate is the inscription "T.H. Watts." The wrought ironwork looks as good as it did 100 years ago. Buried here are several of the Governor's children including Minnie Garrett Watts, his youngest, who passed away in 1929.
