Huge Blob of Arctic Goo Floats Past North Slope Communities
A mysterious glob of unknown material up to 12 miles long has appeared off Alaska's
north coast. "It's certainly biological. It's definitely not an oil product of any kind."
Floating Rubbish Dump 'Bigger Than US'
It is a vast area of plastic debris and other flotsam drifting in the
northern Pacific Ocean, held there by swirling ocean currents.
Scientists Confirm Earth's Energy Is Out of Balance
Scientists have concluded more energy is being absorbed from the sun than is emitted
back to space, throwing the Earth's energy "out of balance" and warming the globe.

A chemical associated with rocket fuel has turned up in most samples of
breast milk and store-bought cow's milk from 23 US states, a new study reveals.
The Hidden Dangers of Cell Phone Radiation
Every day, we are swimming in a sea of electromagnetic radiation (EMR)
produced by electrical appliances, power lines and other technologies...
Rocket Fuel Chemical Found in Water and Produce

The Deafening Sound of the Seas
Wednesday, 22 September, 2004 - The world's oceans are now so saturated with
noise that whales and other marine mammals are dying,
biologists say.
Hotter-Burning Sun Warming The Planet
The sun is burning hotter than usual, offering a possible explanation for
global warming that needs to be weighed when proceeding with expensive
efforts to cut emissions of greenhouse gases, Swiss and German scientists say.
Earth Brightens After Years of Dimming
WASHINGTON May 27, 2004 - Scientists studying earthshine the amount of light reflected by
the Earth say the planet appeared to dim from 1984 to 2001 and then reversed its trend
and brightened from 2001 to 2003. The shift appears to have resulted from changes in the
amount of clouds covering the planet.
Globe Grows Darker as Sunshine Diminishes 10% to 37%
May 18, 2004 - In the second half of the 20th century, the world became, quite literally,
a darker place. Defying expectation and easy explanation, hundreds of instruments
around the world recorded a drop in sunshine reaching the surface of Earth,
as much as 10 percent from the late 1950's to the early 90's, or 2 percent to
3 percent a decade. In some regions like Asia, the United States and Europe,
the drop was even steeper. In Hong Kong, sunlight decreased 37 percent.
1,500 Of 2,000 Homing Pigeons Lost During Race
Organizers of a race for homing pigeons were still scratching their heads in wonder
after about 1,500 of the birds, famous for their ability to find their way home,
went missing during the contest.
World's Marine Life Is Getting Sicker
For years, apparent increases in illness among marine creatures, from whales to coral, have
left marine scientists with the uneasy suspicion that the seas are increasingly plagued by
disease. Now, US researchers have uncovered the first good evidence that they are right.
Annual 'Dead Zone' Spreads Across Gulf of Mexico
(Reuters) -- A huge "dead zone" of water so devoid of oxygen that sea life cannot
live in it has spread across 5,800 square miles of the Gulf of Mexico this summer
in what has become an annual occurrence caused by pollution.
UNEP Warns Of Growth Of Ocean "Dead Zones"
Oxygen-starved "dead zones" in the oceans that are threatening marine life and the livelihoods
of millions of people are now one of the biggest environmental challenges the world faces,
the U.N. Environment Program warned today in its global overview report.

Astronomer Predicts Major Earthquake for Japan, Other Experts Express Doubts
posted: 03:40 pm ET - 15 September 2003 By Associated Press
A Japanese researcher is causing a stir in Tokyo with a prediction based on his study of
radio waves that a major destructive earthquake is highly likely to hit the city this week...
I have observed that an 8.1 magnitude earthquake struck Japan 11 days after this story was posted.
From where I stand, the astronomer scored a direct hit with his earthquake prediction!
The magnitude 8.1 quake shook the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido
Personal Observations
| I remember the drought of 2001. I remember how the grass screamed and it's bones crunched underfoot. That is what it felt and sounded like. I was some big Godzilla type giant and the grass was no match for my big sneakers. Even more upsetting was watching the local farmers corn grow only as high as a small doggies eye. The trees were a puzzle. | this just a bunch useless text just to take up spacexpacexpacexpacexpacex |
| this just a bunch useless text just to take up spacexpacexpacexpacexpacex | They are so long rooted and they seem to be able to withstand so much adversity. I watched them shut themselves down and hibernate. Conserving energy by shedding their leaves about two months sooner than usual. |
| When the weather did finally come back I watched the grass come bouncing back. Except for some brown foot shaped spots. The corn of the following season did fine. Then the trees slowly awakened from their self induced suspended animation and all was good again. | Driving down the roads you can see the casualties of that drought. The rows of trees that decorate the highways and byways are dotted with the few shrubs and trees that never returned. |
|
Does it seem to you that the trees that grow along the roadsides are reaching toward the trees on the other side? Or, even better, the trees preserved in the medial strip are perfectly straight waiting for either side to finally touch their outstretched branches? I do. Jan Cleve Backster was an American expert on lie detectors. In 1966, using a lie detector, he accidentally discovered that plants have high-level emotional activities that were similar to those of human beings. He then conducted a series of studies that amazed the world. The Secret Life of Plants |

We can't help noticing the Sun. It's out there every day. Whether there are clouds or not.
It is a symbol to us that every thing is ok. The sun always comes up. No matter how dark
the previous night was. It chased away all the shadows and closet monsters, vanquished
the nasties that can 'get' you if you don't watch out!
So predictable that the meteorologists know exactly when it will rise and set every day. Imagine my surprise when the local news gives the sun a little airtime. Not the goofy weatherman with the bow tie showing cartoon cutouts of a partially sunny day. I mean the lead, prime time anchorman. The head 'talking head!
For those of us who pay attention we already know the sun has been pitching a real fit
lately. Just this past week the sun had Jan |
I will expand on what Jan has just said. For some years, we have been waiting for a predicted big solar event
or "kill shot" from
the Sun. I will suggest, based on the recent extreme activity of the Sun, that these largest ever seen
solar flares are only the warning shots portending a much, much larger future solar event.
Is the sun trying to tell us something? Yes it is...and we are in for a rough ride. Get ready folks and prepare yourselves...for we have been warned and the signs could not be any more clear...the sky may indeed be falling. Posted: 30-November-2003
Updated: That was then. This is now and now is a couple of a few
years later & Sun spot activity has gone to zero, what scientists
are calling a solar minimum.
Could this be the calm before the solar storm? Dano |
