Norm's Links
Here are links in some of my areas of interest. I had better
keep them sparse so that they will be manageable.
Bookbinding and Conservation
- The key place to explore is the Conservation Online Web
site, which includes, among other things, the invaluable archives of
the Book Arts listserv.
Bookshopping
Genealogy
Higher Education
- Gordon College, my alma
mater, is frequently rated one of the best schools, pound for pound, in
the United States.
- Simmons College has an
excellent library school, speaking as an alumnus.
- The Boston
Theological Institute is a consortium with which I have been
closely affiliated, since I am a graduate of and used to work for one
of its member institutions and I used to serve on some of its
committees.

Libraries
- For links to library servers around the world that are Web
accessible, see Libweb.
- For a wonderful online resource and worthy experiment by the
University of Michigan School of Information, visit the Internet Public Library.
- Usually when I visit the Library
of Congress Web site, I want to access the Library of Congress catalogs.
- The library network for my region is the Merrimack Valley
Library Consortium (MVLC).
- Adjacent to the MVLC region is the North of Boston Library
Exchange (NOBLE).
- For a very special group of people with a valuable agenda,
serving the infrastructure of theology and ethics in North America,
check out the American Theological
Library Association.
- I created the first several versions of the Web site for Goddard Library,
when I was Head Librarian there. My design has all but disappeared;
however, my dream of having the library catalog
accessible through the Internet has been realized.
Linguistics and Lexicography
Marine Biology
Philosophy
Social Development
- The Book
of Visions is a fun place to start exploring social inventions.
- To find communities that have been formed to foster each a
distinct vision, take a look at the Web site for intentional communities.
