The WaltonsFan Clubsby Brenda Irby |
There are three fan clubs dedicated to The Waltons. Each one is different in what it offers the fans. I am a member of each club and I enjoy and appreciate the various aspects of each one.
| THE FRIENDS OF THE WALTONS
The Friends of The Waltons is a division of the Walton's Mountain Museum. Members receive a quarterly newsletter edited by Ralph Giffin, webmaster of the official website of The Waltons. The newsletter includes a variety of articles about cast members, episodes, happenings at the museum and the area around Schuyler, as well as fan questions answered by Earl Hamner himself. Members also receive free admission to The Walton's Mountain Museum and a 10% discount at the museum store. Individual Membership: $15/year (USA); $17/year (outside USA) Family Membership: $25/year (USA); $27/year (outside USA) Friends of The Waltons |
| THE WALTONS INTERNATIONAL FAN CLUB
This fan club was started in 1992 at the dedication of The Walton's Mountain Museum. Members receive a quarterly newsletter published by Carolyn Grinnell, Fan Club President. The newsletter is a quality publication full of information about cast members, episodes, and happenings of the fan club. The International Fan Club also sponsors the annual reunion and publishes a cookbook. Dues are $20/year, US funds. Carolyn Grinnell, President |
| WALTONS FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY
Waltons Friendship Society was started by a group of Walton admirers from all over the UK in 1990, making it the oldest of the Waltons fan clubs. It is an appreciation society for Earl Hamner, the Walton series and all its cast and production crews. Members receive a quarterly publication called MAILBOX, which, according to Irene Porter, consists of members' letters in an on-going, chatty format of questions, answers, opinions and news of anything Walton related, as well as vintage and up to date news and articles on the cast and series. Dues: $25/per calendar year, January to December (for members in the US, cash or checks made payable to 'Waltons'). Irene Porter, Waltons Friendship Society |
