Welcome to
Pure Excitement Comics, the number one source for original
Golden Age comic book reprints on the Web!
Welcome aboard, True Believers! You've stumbled across
the 11th big issue of Pure Excitement Comics -- get ready for some bizarre excitement, Golden Age style!
This issue features a
couple of stories a little different than those usually featured within these pages.
Sure, the first story stars "Shock Gibson," a standard masked hero type, but the other
two stories are not so mainstream. The second story stars a character called Al T. Tude
in one of the handful of stories where he adopted the identity of the superpowered "Gooperman."
The third story features one of the wackiest hard-fighting crimebusters I have ever
come across -- Nickie Norton of the Secret Service!
Apologies, once again, to those of you offended by so-called "Yellow Peril" stories.
The Shock Gibson story is presented in its original form to preserve
its historical significance, not as a reflection of current views of Asians or Asian-Americans.
Don't worry, the other two stories stick to bashing Nazis! All stories are believed to be in the
public domain*.
If you enjoy this issue, be sure to write to let me know (it's also OK to write if you didn't like this issue...all feedback is appreciated). You will find
a link to my Email on the page following the stories. And be sure to join my mailing list to find out when I update any portion of my now-gigantic web empire!
* All stories are over 50 years old and believed to be in the public domain. Should a story appear which is not in the public domain and the holder of the copyright is opposed to its inclusion in Pure Excitement Comics, it will be immediately removed from this site upon notification. Pure Excitement Comics is a non-profit operation and does not claim the copyright to any of these stories or characters.
