Welcome to
Pure Excitement Comics, the number one source for original
Golden Age comic book reprints on the Web!
Welcome to the 13th fun-filled
issue of Pure Excitement Comics!
This month I once again bring you three
great "forgotten" heroes of the Golden Age. First up is Yank & Doodle, the two youthful heroes who
also made an appearance in issue no. 1 of Pure Excitement Comics! Long-time readers will note
a definite difference in tone to this story, however, since in comes from a time when the source
comic, Prize Comics, had turned its focus to crime stories. Our second story this month is one
featuring Mr. Risk, where he battles a strangely familiar villain. The final story this month adds
a Western flavor to Pure Excitement Comics for the first time. It's the origin tale of Fox Publication's
Black Rider character. All stories are believed to be in the public domain*.
If you enjoy this issue, be sure to write to let me know (it's also OK to write if you didn't like this issue...all feedback is appreciated). You will find
a link to my Email on the page following the stories. And be sure to join my mailing list to find out when I update any portion of my now-gigantic web empire (which has been
slightly curtailed for a few months while I build a new house)!
* All stories are over 50 years old and believed to be in the public domain. Should a story appear which is not in the public domain and the holder of the copyright is opposed to its inclusion in Pure Excitement Comics, it will be immediately removed from this site upon notification. Pure Excitement Comics is a non-profit operation and does not claim the copyright to any of these stories or characters.
