Welcome to
Pure Excitement Comics, the number one source for original
Golden Age comic book reprints on the Web!
Hey, everybody,
we've made it to issue 15!
I've altered the format
a bit this issue because of outside time demands (ie. I'm in the middle of building
a new house...). I will still feature three great stories each month, but I'm scaling
back on the intoductory information for each character. All the pertinent information
will now appear on this contents page.
First up this month is
Dynamo, another character from Weird Comics no. 17.
Eventually, I will have reprinted all of the usable material from my copy of that
issue. That issue was published in August of 1941 by Fox Publications, Inc. Dynamo,
who was first known as Electro, appeared in Science Comics 1-8, Blue
Beetle 7-8, and Weird Comics 8-19.
Our second feature this month
is Bronze Man, reprinted from Blue Beetle no. 44, published in Sept.-Oct. of 1946
by Fox Feature Syndicate, Inc. Bronze Man also appeared in Blue Beetle no. 42.
Making another return
to the pages of this web'zine in our third spot are Magno and Davey, in a huge 19-page
tale from Super-Mystery Comics vol. 2 no. 4 from October of 1941 (Periodical
House, Inc.). Magno the Magnetic Man appeared in the first 29 issues of
Super-Mystery Comics and Four Favorites 1-26.
All stories are believed to be in the public domain*.
If you enjoy this issue, be sure to write to let me know (it's also OK to write if you didn't like this issue...all feedback is appreciated). You will find
a link to my Email on the page following the stories. And be sure to join my mailing list to find out when I update any portion of my now-gigantic web empire (which has been
slightly curtailed for a few months while I build a new house)!
