Welcome to
Pure Excitement Comics, the number one source for original
Golden Age comic book reprints on the Web!
Hey, everybody,
welcome to the much-anticipated 18th issue!
Our first feature this month
is The Raven, from Sure-Fire Comics
no. 3, source of several other great stories which have appeared previously on this site.
It was published in 1940 by Ace Magazines, Inc. The Raven appeared in
Sure-Fire Comics/Lightning Comics Vol. 1 No. 1 through Vol. 3 No. 1 (the entire series),
as well as Four Favorites 1-4.
The second feature this month
is The Echo, reprinted from Dynamic Comics no. 15,
which was published in July of 1945 by Flying Cadet Publishing Co., Inc.
The Echo appeared in Dynamic Comics 8-23 and Yankee Comics 1-4.
In the third spot this month,
by request, is Frankenstein, in a story from
Prize Comics no. 68, published in February-March of 1948 by Feature Publications.
Frankenstein appeared in
Prize Comics nos. 7-54 and 56-68, as well as 33 issues of his own comic,
Frankenstein Comics.
