Welcome to
Pure Excitement Comics, the number one source for original
Golden Age comic book reprints on the Web!
Two years in the making -- it's the 24th
spectacular issue of Pure Excitement Comics!
Up first this month is a pair
of heroes known as Flying Fist and Bingo,
from Prize Comics no. 40, published in March of 1944 by
Feature Publications. The duo appeared in Prize Comics nos. 35-43 and 45-47.
The second feature this month
is the Champ in a story from
Champ Comics no. 13, published in May of 1941 by Champ Publishing Company.
The Champ appeared in Champion/Champ Comics 2-24..
Our third story this time
around is sort of an oddity. It's the last appearance of
the Black Terror, from Exciting Comics no. 69 (published in
September of 1949 by Better Publications, Inc.). Except for one thing -- the Black Terror does not
appear in costume in this issue, and only at the end in his civilian identity! The story features
his sidekick Tim in some fantastic solo action. The Black Terror appeared in Exciting Comics
9-69, America's Best Comics 1-31, and The Black Terror 1-27.
Hope you enjoy this issue. Be sure to check
back next month for our special king-sized 25th issue. Also,
both my CD-ROMs are still available. More information about the CDs,
which cost a mere $10 each (shipped), can be found at this link!
All stories are believed to be in the public domain*.
If you enjoy this issue, be sure to write to let me know (it's also OK to write if you don't like this issue...all feedback is appreciated). You will find
