Welcome to Pure Excitement Comics, the number one source for original Golden Age comic book reprints on the Web!

For the 26th issue, I've decided to do something a little different and shift the focus to the science fiction heroes of the Golden Age.
Our first sci-fi superstar is Dan Hastings, from Dynamic Comics no. 19, published in July of 1946 by Harry A. Chesler, Jr. Publications, Inc. I am unable to provide a complete listing of Dan Hasting appearances at this time.
The second feature this month is Wonderman in a tale from Wonder Comics no. 16, published in February of 1948 by Better Publications, Inc. Wonderman, whose feature was also known as "Brad Spencer, Wonder Man," appeared in Wonder Comics 9-20, the Complete Book of Comics and Funnies, and Mystery Comics 1-4.
Returning to Pure Excitement Comics in the third slot this month is Blast Bennett, from Weird Comics no. 15 (published in June of 1941 by Fox Publications, Inc.). Blast Bennett appeared in Weird Comics 1-9 and 11-17.
Just a quick note relating to the new server for this site: if you plan to create a link to one of the stories at some point, please just link to the main index page and let people know in which issue to look. Only the last few issues will be kept on this site due to space considerations. After a while, older issues will be moved to one of my older servers, probably Fortune City, so direct links to stories may fail to work over time.
Also, my third great CD-ROM is now available. It is designed like an extra-large edition of this webzine, with 15 separate Golden Age features included, in a total of 23 stories (15 I haven't reprinted before, along with rescanned versions of 8 other stories starring the same characters!). The disk is available for the usual great low price of $10 shipped, despite its huge size! More information about the CDs can be found at this link!
All stories are believed to be in the public domain*. If you enjoy this issue, be sure to write to let me know (it's also OK to write if you don't like this issue...all feedback is appreciated). You will find a link to my E-mail on the page following the stories or on this page in the column to the left. And be sure to join my mailing list to find out when I update any portion of my web site!
   * All stories are over 50 years old and believed to be in the public domain. Should a story appear which is not in the public domain and the holder of the copyright is opposed to its inclusion in Pure Excitement Comics, it will be immediately removed from this site upon notification. Pure Excitement Comics does not claim the copyright to any of these stories or characters. Information for this page was found in Howard Keltner's Index to Golden Age Comic Books.
