| How Do I Become a Member ? |
Easy, Print out the online application and drop it off at
the station .The submitted application will be presented to the membership
at our regular meeting .You will be contacted by a trustee to set up a
time for an interview . |
| What are the requirements to being a member ? |
Not Many . Men & Women of all ages are urged to join .We
do require a pre-employment physical and a background check .If you are
accepted ,you are put on a 6 months probation period .During this time you
must attend 70% of all company activities (drills,fires,meetings, &
work details).We also offer a junior membership for ages 14 - 18 .This is
a great opportunity for High School Students . |
| What are the requirements to be a firefighter ? |
You must pass the pre-employment physical with no
limitations .We ask if you have any previous firefighting experience to
include copies of your certificates with your application . |
| Do I have to fight Fires ? |
Absolutely Not ! We need hard working individuals to help
with fundraising , administrative work , and general work around the
station .NO ONE is ever excluded because of their abilities or limitations
. |
| Do you need training? |
We have bi-monthly in house training sessions .Also members
are encouraged to attend Westmoreland County Fire school , or any other
available training .All training fees are paid by the fire company . |
| Why become a member ? |
Well , the reasons are endless . Helping YOUR community is
the biggest reason .We are all volunteers who give their time freely ,
saving the taxpayers millions of dollars annually . Also you can make new
friends who hunt ,fish ,boat ,jog , camp ,and have many other hobbies that
you may also enjoy . |
