is as light as cork, thus does not impose a penalty of any kind for
swimming. ARMOUR
ENCUMBRANCE PENALTIES (PIECEMEAL)
(1)
Penalty is for the following Knacks when they are used:
Leaping, Lifting, Swinging, Rolling . *Both:
If both Leg Guards and Arm Guards worn increase the penalty to
Leaping, Lifting, Swinging, Rolling checks by +5. (PER)
Perception Checks; (FM) Fine Manipulation Checks; (STH) Stealth Checks ARMOUR
QUALITY & NOTES The above listed penalties are for armour of standard quality. Armour of master craftsmanship or armour of substandard quality will have slightly different penalties. For
extremely well made armour (that is NOT Dracheneisen) use the penalties
for the armour listed to the right of the armour worn.
So if you had master-crafted Plate Armour, you would use the
penalties for Chain Armour. Dracheneisen
is already considered a master-crafted item; the Smiths would make
nothing less after all. For
extremely poorly made armour (that is NOT Dracheneisen) double the
penalties Dracheneisen
is always considered a master-crafted item.
A
Note on Projectiles and Armour
Armour
other then
Dracheneisen offers no protection at all from attacks made from bows,
crossbows or firearms of any kind.
TALLIED
EFFECTS
SHIELDS
& BUCKLERS
(1)
Dracheneisen versions of these get +1k0 die when using Knacks associated
with them.
Bucklers:
This small shield is about a foot to a foot and a half in diameter.
Normally it is strapped to ones forearm, which still leaves the off-hand
free. However if the user desired it can easily be held. If
strapped on you can use missile weapons such as cross-bows and longbows,
as well as firearms. Shield:
Similar to a Buckler, but much larger and heavier, the shield is usually
circular (but not always) and can be as much as 3 feet in diameter.
A shield is large enough to gain cover from incoming missile attacks
from non-firearm projectiles. Tower
Shield: This massive shield can be nearly as tall as a man.
Due to their size, weight and mass they can be hard to maneuver.
The user must use two hands if they do not meet the Tower’s Brawn
requirement. If they meet the Brawn requirement and try to use the
tower shield while also wielding a weapon they receive a –2k0 penalty
to any Attack Rolls and Active Parry.
