Wayne's World History 101
In the beginning there was Wayne.
Just Wayne.
And an acoustic guitar. And a few solo gigs and jams around town.
Next thing you know, friends - some from previous bands, some new faces - started sitting in at the solo acoustic gigs. With Rick Smith on congas, Chuck Parker on guitar and various others dropping by, it wasn't long before the solo acoustic shows became less solo and less acoustic, and pretty soon a new band was born. Since Wayne was the only constant, it became Wayne's World.
Musicians drifted in and out of orbit - guitar players, horn players, keyboard players, harmonica players, and more spontaneously-combustible drummers than legendary English rockers Spinal Tap. Friendships were formed, set lists expanded, and copious amounts of alcohol were consumed as the band gained a reputation for stellar musicianship, musical diversity, and fun, freewheeling live shows that have kept audiences dancing from the beach bars of St. George Island to private parties in the University Center at FSU.
The current lineup of Wayne's World has been together for a couple of years now, with no signs of stopping.
And now, meet the band...

Wayne Deweil
Bass, vocals
Namesake of the band, spiritual leader, and walking encyclopedia of popular music, this transplanted Jersey boy has been entertaining audiences as a solo act, with the band, and in the studio for years. |

"Jeffro"
Guitar, saxaphones, vocals
From the beginning, playing sax in juke joints while still in high school, through tours of the U.S. and Canada, and finally settling down back in his hometown of Tallahassee, Jeffro is the music man. Check out his web site HERE.

Dave Kurzweg
Keyboard, vocals
Complains that he can't read music very well. We say he never needed to in the first place. Country crooning to Rod Stewart, Dave handles the high parts and presides over the Drink Breaks - audience participation is a must! |

Steve Fryson
Drums, vocals
The newest addition to Wayne's World, Steve has been involved in music almost from the day he was born. Already a veteran performer, he currently teaches drums, while also polishing up his skills on a variety of other instruments. |

Jim Richardson
Guitar, vocals, web monkey
Because every band needs a bald guy with a goatee. |
HONORABLE MENTIONS

Rick "Wood Chips" Smith
Our "missing man"
Rick held the drum slot in Wayne's World for many years before moving on to better things in South Florida. We miss ya, brother. |

Medusa
Power Behind the Throne
The snake-headed goddess of Greek myth had nothing on this mess. Then again, she was is said to have translated the powers of the natural world into an organic image that was accessible, practical, ceremonial, mystical and potent. We suppose the same thing could be said about our P.A. |
