Contract Manufacturing
Manger
- Direct all facets and
operations of the company’s domestic and overseas contract manufacturers,
maintaining Dale’s high quality standards, and ensuring compliance with
all regulatory agencies.
- Developed all required
documentation and plans to transfer two high volume lines to offshore
contract manufacturer.
- Setup and manage MRP to
ensure product availability to meet the customer’s requirements.
- Oversee manufacturing in
the Plainville facility, delegating daily production management to the
Production Manager.
- Ensure timely flow of
finished goods to shipping destinations in the United States and abroad.
- Establish production plan
with each manufacturer and ensure contract manufacturers meet production
goals in a timely manner, and that finished goods are fully compliant with
regulatory requirements and Dale’s quality standards.
- Lead the enhancement of the
current ERP system and implement new functionality as it relates to the
materials functions.
- Ensure contract
manufacturers meet terms and conditions of contracts. Visit contract
manufacturers’ facilities on a regular basis. Collaborate with Quality
Assurance Manager to establish quality metrics and monitor quality of
finished goods.
- Develop documentation for
new products and coordinate NPI through manufacturing.

Responsible for planning and management
of business operations (e.g. product development, manufacturing, quality,
purchasing and inventory). Managed direct reports from Engineering, Materials
Control/Purchasing, Production and Manufacturing Engineering.
- Project manager for five
high end home theater projects working with designers in US and Asia.
- Corporate interface and
project manager for ODM outsourced engineering and manufacturing.
- Established formal business

- Responsibility for new
product development and NPI function for Lexicon, Mark Levinson and Revel
brands
- Oversaw operations of
manufacturing facilities in Bedford, MA and Middletown CT as well as
warehouse in CA during the Lexicon/Madrigal merger.
- Identified and corrected
numerous business problems as part of two businesses merging eight brands
- Effectively managed two
electronic manufacturing facilities (total 110,000 sq. ft.) in two states.
- Developed and directly
managed detailed transitional plan and led all operational and engineering
efforts merging two Harman consumer facilities (Lexicon Inc. &
Madrigal Audio Labs). Merged 110,000 sq ft into 59,000 sq ft design,
manufacturing, sales, service and operations.
- Efficiently moved two
professional brands (Lexicon Pro and Audio Access) into other Harman
divisions.
- Developed detailed
transitional cost reduction plan to outsource all manufacturing of two
consumer electronic brands.
- Managed and analyzed
business plan details, budgets, costs, sales forecasts, inventory plans,
and product availability
- Designed detailed spreadsheet
including business plan, sales forecasts, finished goods inventory,
finished goods plan horizon and new product introduction plans linked to

Responsible for Materials
Control, Shipping, Receiving, Purchasing, Customer Service and Facilities.
Managed direct reports from Materials Control/Purchasing, Production, Customer
Service and Manufacturing Engineering.
- Managed multiple product
development projects serving as NPI manufacturing liaison as well as
project manager. Products were professional and high end consumer
audio/video used in recording, broadcast and high end home theater.
- Improved and coordinated
new product introduction process serving as liaison for multiple brands
and products interfacing daily with engineering and manufacturing groups.
- Set production schedules to
meet the sales forecasts. Coordinate manufacturing with engineering on
new product introduction. Gathered and analyzed processes and field
repair test data to resolve Manufacturing and Design issues.
- Managed new products for
engineering from proposal to production.
- Wrote multiple custom
report writers to support MRP and other business needs and served on
business system implementation teams (MINX and SAP)
- Wrote Windows applications
used to test MIDI and RS232 interface on professional audio and high end
custom install home theater products which significantly shorted test time
of each embedded software on products.
Test/Service Manager (1984 – 1990)
Managed three departments
(Production Test, Service & Field Service). Refined repair and testing
procedures for all products. Gathered and analyzed repair and test data to
define resolutions for Manufacturing and Design issues. Wrote automatic test
programs with IBM PC as controller of GPIB and Audio Precision instruments for
production and service. Trained and assisted with implementation of contract
manufacturing. Wrote utility software in Assembler and Pascal for production
in conjunction with Audio Precision software, which improved test data
collection and analysis. Managed technical repair calls, application inquiries,
customer/dealer complaints, repair pricing and policies and training for
international distributors. Established and maintained repair exchange program
and supervised repair department personnel including a Field Service Manager.
Wrote custom software application for customer returns.
Test supervisor (1981 – 1984)
Scheduled workflow, test
equipment, production inventories, supervised personnel, generated test
procedures for all products in production as well as field returns.
Technical supervisor (1980 – 1981)
Managed all technical supervision,
training and test equipment. Coordinated factory customer service activities
to ensure customer satisfaction and identify potential systematic quality
problems in products. Worked with engineering and manufacturing to correct any
problems and performed repairs.
Test Technician (1979 – 1980)
Tested, repaired & Q.C.
of digital delay, digital reverb, speech compression/expansion cassette tape
decks and video controllers for Data General Nova. Worked with design
engineering on prototypes and special test equipment.
