Wayne Braden

Mr. Braden began training in judo and karate at nine years old at the Mt. Clemens Y.M.C.A. At the age of 18 he joined the US Army and after initial training volunteered for the U.S. Army Rangers and began to learn jujutsu hand-to-hand combat techniques for use on the modern battle field. After a six-year break in training, Mr. Braden began studying Okinawan Karate-Do in Utica Michigan. After two years of intense karate-do training, he met Mr. Deric Wilkins, who was teaching Aikido at Oakland University (Oakland Aiki Kai). Mr. Wilkins introduced Mr. Braden to Okabayashi Shogen of Japan, Kyoji Dari in Aiki Jujutsu of the Daito Ryu. It was under Okabayashi Shogen that Mr. Wilkins and Mr. Braden added Aiki Jujutsu to their training regiment. Mr. Braden's training has since then focused on Aiki jujitsu. Mr. Braden's martial arts experience includes: Okinawan Karate-do, Iaido, Kenjutsu, Aikido, Jujutsu, Judo, Tai Chi Ch'uan, Tae Kwon Do, and Aiki jujutsu. Mr. Braden currently holds a shodan in Aikido and a shodan in Hakuho Ryu Aiki Budo. Mr. Braden is does NOT hold the title of Shihan in Hakuho Ryu but that of Sensei for the Asayake Dojo.
