Okabayashi Sensei's training can be traced directly back to the Takeda family of the Daito Ryu. He studied Aikijujutsu mainly under the late Takeda Tokimune, 36th Soke, and Hisa Takuma, Menkyo Kaiden (highest rank) of the Daito Ryu. Sensei trained in Ono Ha Itto Ryu Kenjutsu exclusively under Tokimune Soke, and holds a Menkyo in this system.

Historical Outline of Okabayashi Sensei

1949   - Born in Hyogo prefecture, Ashiya city
1972   - Received instruction in Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu from MenkyoKaiden Hisa Takuma
1973   - Participated in the formation of the Takuma-kai
1976   - On the recommendation of Hisa Takuma Sensei, was accepted as a student by Takeda Tokimune Sensei
1980   - Received Kyojyu Dairi Certificate from Hisa Takuma Sensei
1987   - Received License in Takeda-den Onno-ha Itto-ryu Kenjutsu from Takeda Tokimune Sensei
1994   - Formed the Hakuho-kai branch of Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu
2002   - Formed Hakuho-ryu Aikijujutsu based on personal research into methods of utilizing the body in Kobudo
