Still had more time to kill (late afternoon flight out), so I went over to the Polynesian to see how it would be in October. Wow! What a difference from August! It didn't have that humid, wet feel at all. I would definitely plan to stay at the Poly in the cooler months.

Yep, Hawaii's renovations were all done when I went in late
October.
While I was
killing time, I had lunch at the Kona Cafe--it was wonderful!
No P.S. needed for lunch in October.
