VIDEO??

What's this?  WECB made a video?  Well, yes.  To introduce WECB to incoming Freshmen, WECB produced a 5 minute video explaining what the station was all about.  As far as I know, Larry Benjamin gets the majority of credit for producing, directing, editing, shooting etc.  Starring, Fred Genderon - as GM and sports director,  Jim Patterson as Sales Director and DJ, and also starring James Simon as audio tape editor aficionado!

This video was produced at Emerson on 3/4" tape, so it's of very high quality.  Russ Weisenbacher made a dub on VHS while still in school.  Somehow the tape has survived all these years and finally I have it on loan.  What you are about to see is of rather low quality due to the fact that it's a 3rd generation dub.  I had no way to digitize the video directly into the computer.  Instead I set up my digital camcorder on a tripod and shot the TV !!   Then I was able to dump the camcorder into the computer and adjust the audio and video levels for a decent presentation.  Finally, the completed project was rendered into a wmv format for the internet.  This should produce streaming video that will play almost instantly.  A far cry from having to wait for the 10MB file to download.
