Following our November, 2009 competition we decided to begin immediately on our next routine.  This time a rumba with a jungle theme, based on Martin Denny’s 1959 hit “Quiet Village” - Carmella played a jungle nymph with designs on the Great White Hunter, Wes. Our teacher Grant Prickett invented some wonderful steps.  The result? Well in the judge’s words: “Love the opening. Great showmanship, use of music. Excellent partnering.  You really sold it! Loved it.” Score: 97 our of 100 and the “Most Entertaining Routine” trophy.  Not too shabby.

Carmella’s outfit is from Victoria Secret. Her matching leopard shoes are from Champion Dance shoes.  Wes’s shirt is LL Bean. The helmet on loan from Grant.

Our little jungle nymph tires of the game and tries to get away,
but our Great White Hunter will have none of that and forces her to stay.

As the music winds down, so does our jungle nymph, finally submitting to the hunter.
Oh, if this only worked in real life!
