We asked if the 1740 House was really that old, and were told, no it was built in 1820, but a recent owner wanted tourists to think it was the oldest Inn in Bucks County so he named it 1740 House.  The Black Bass, walking distance from 1740, still has the honors at 1745. The Inn is recently renovated. The rooms are large and comfy with great views of the Delaware River and the old Delaware canal.  Bar on premises!!!  That is a rarity.
