Ok, so we’re devoting a whole page to ONE bed and breakfast in a town that has only one stoplight, one pub (a durned good one), and a whole bunch of little frufru shops. Milford, New Jersey, is about 4 miles north of Frenchtown (like that helps) on the Delaware River. I can’t even provide you a decent history of the town. Chestnut Hill is probably our favorite bed and breakfast. The proprietors, Linda and Rob Castagna, have created a calm, classy setting that we visit at least once per year to recharge the batteries. We stay in the cottage, which is separate from the main house. It has it’s own kitchen which means you have breakfast when you want to, in total privacy. Linda and Rob have just opened their new “Paradise” Room... which looks rather out of place for a cozy country inn. It features pink flamingos and palm trees. Whatever... It works. Although what possessed Linda to create such a room will probably require years of therapy. Nevertheless, we like it. The Ship Inn, just up the block, is a great brew pub.
