Inn at Phillips Mill

New Hope, PA

Inn at Phillips Mill, just outside of New Hope, PA on Rt 32. The main house dates to 1750. You may notice that the building is right ON the road... about a foot separates it from the traffic. Dinners are served on the first and second floor... French country style food.

We have stayed in the main house before... room 3 is very private... but we prefer the detached Tudor style cottage built around 1910.  Bedroom is upstairs.  Big fireplace downstairs.  Radiant heat under the floors so you can walk barefoot in the winter!

Here’s that BIG fireplace we were talking about. The first night, the innkeepers put a pathetic little synthetic log in the fireplace, which, while it burned just fine, looked a bit inadequate.  The second night we acquired some real wood and had a proper fire.

Here is the cozy bedroom we promised.  Despite the “be careful honey” admonitions from Carmella, Wes invariably bumped his head on the slanted ceilings.  Small price to pay as he wasn’t using his head anyway..

Lots of primitive horse art, as well as some old fox hunting prints, decorate the joint.  We love the stone walls and heavy beams.

Rustic kitchen.  What? No microwave?

Peddler’s Village.

Enough said.

Side trip to Peddler’s Village in Lahaska, PA.

Carmella finally meets that Big Wheel she’s been looking for.
