Dating back to 1790 the Robert Morris Inn is one of the oldest in America.  Robert Morris, Jr., was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and a key financier of the Revolution, but never mind all that; this place has the best crab cakes anywhere.  James Michener wrote Chesapeake here.
