Robert Morris Inn

Dating back to 1790 the Robert Morris Inn is one of the oldest in America.  Robert Morris, Jr., was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and a key financier of the Revolution, but never mind all that; this place has the best crab cakes anywhere.  James Michener wrote Chesapeake here. Accessible by land and water, via the Oxford Ferry, the oldest continuously operating ferry in the US.

More sad news: The property is being sold and the restaurant is now only open for a light breakfast.
