We rented a small 2 bedroom bungalow (lower level) in Surf City for a week. The good news: we had two elderly couples in the upstairs, so there was no noise. The day we left a family with two screaming kids moved in. Whew.
Here’s the living room. The table under the mirror folded out for our dining room. Nice couch for naps. TV took a half hour to warm up, but heh... it’s the beach.
Every morning the surf rake would come by and scoop up all the litter from the previous day. Then the old farts would come by with their metal detectors. Hey, Geezer! The surf rake already got everything. Sheesh.
Our fave hangout, the Sand Bar at the Engleside hotel. The drinks were watery and this time the band sucked, but we didn’t care.
Carmella and her new boyfriend, Barneget Lighthouse. Dare to dream?
Surf City in the A.M. We would sit on a bench, drink coffee and read the paper. Rather relaxing, no?
Being loyal theater goers, we went to the Surflight Theater for a live performance of Jekyll and Hyde. Not bad. Good cast, well staged for a semi-amateur performance. This theater company has been around since 1950.
