A popular song says, “They will know we are Christians by our love…” Jesus taught us that our discipleship in his name will be recognized as we reach out to and serve our “neighbors” through acts of compassion and justice. It is often said that our actions speak louder than our words so, through WestM, we offer a variety of ways in which you may express your faith as you go and serve others:
Stone Soup Kitchen: Tue, Feb. 10 & 24, 3pm – 7 pm st Christian Church, 602 SW Madison Ave. Corvallis, OR 97333 WestM helps to host this weekly meal for the hungry of the Corvallis community. The meal is served between 5:30 and 6:30 PM. Volunteers are needed and welcome to help prepare, serve, and clean up following the meal. Preparations begin at 3:00 PM and run to 5:00 PM. The serving and cleanup shift is usually finished by 7:00 PM. Volunteers can work one or both shifts. Call Pat Gurski at WestM (753-2242 or pat-westm@comcast.net) to volunteer.
Habitat for Humanity Work Day: Saturday, November 22nd - all day
Put this one on your calendar to be a part of this amazing service to the community. We will be helping with a new home construction in Albany.
