Wreck Penetration Diver

Overview

This course is to provide the diver with the skills and knowledge needed to gain experience and minimize risks in penetration wreck diving at depth 130 fsw or less. Wreck diving penetration is defined as diving inside a sunken vessel, aircraft, or similiar structure.

This course may be combined with a decompression techniques course which will increase classroom and practical application time and the number of dive to be performed.

This course is sanctioned through TDI and/or NAUI.

Qualification of Graduates

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are considered competent to plan and execute penetration wreck dives that do not require staged decompression (unless combined with a decompression course or already certified as a decompression diver) without direct supervision, provided the diving activities and areas dived approximate those of training.

Prerequisites for Entering the Course

Minimum age of 18; Minimum Certification as a NAUI Nitrox Diver (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50 logged dives.
