China, The Great Wall
This section of The Wall is accessed at Badaling. The Wall was orignally built in the seventh century B.C. It has been rebuilt, reconfigured and lengthened over the centuries with a major undertaking in the Qing Dynasty, 221 B.C. The Wall, as seen today, dates largely from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644); its length is about 4000 miles, running East to West across northern China. It is a very popular venue for the Chinese people as well as for tourists from all over the world.
